Bahamas holidays

The Bahamas are situated east of Florida, about one hour's flying time from Miami. Consisting of around 700 islands, they have long been revered for their superb sailing conditions, crystal clear waters and white sand beaches.

The Bahamas offer a holiday of contrasts. From the glitz and casinos around the more developed resorts in New Providence and Grand Bahama, it is just a few miles to the unspoilt islands and cays of the Out Islands. Here, you will find a more traditional Bahamas with a slower pace of life. There are perfect white sand beaches to explore, excellent fishing and sailing and friendly, helpful locals.

The capital and main gateway to the Bahamas is Nassau, centrally located on the island of New Providence. From here, boats and small planes offer connections to the islands we feature - Harbour Island, Andros Island, Great Exuma and Great Abaco. The hotels featured vary from being laid back and informal to elegant and discerning. Several are small with only a handful of guest rooms, while others offer numerous rooms and suites ideal for all family or group sizes.

British Airways offers direct flights to Nassau five times a week from London Heathrow. From Nassau connect by road, small plane or boat to the hotels.
