GOLFING ON THE ROOF OF THE WORLD

Nepal, 3 Nights

This spectacular program will take you by helicopter to play 2 holes of golf at 14500 feet in the Everest region with Mount Everest serving as a backdrop. You will be accompanied by someone who has climbed Everest and will be able to point out the surrounding peaks. Following this you will then proceed by helicopter and over fly Gokyo Lake, Everest and Amadablan base camps before continuing back to Kathmandu for the remainder of your program..

Day 1
After completion of immigration formalities and having collected your bags, you will be met outside the arrivals hall by your guide who will then transfer you by vehicle to the 5 star Hyatt hotel. This journey takes 20 minutes. Upon arrival you will have time to freshen up before receiving a full briefing on your program. In the late afternoon your guide will accompany you on a short 15 minute walk to the fascinating temple complex of Boudinath which is home to thousands of Tibetan refugees. The temple is the largest Buddhist Stupa in Asia and provides a colourful backdrop to the many shops and tea houses that surround the temple complex. Upon return to the hotel, you will have dinner at the hotel. Overnight Stupa view room Hyatt Regency Hotel. D

Day 2
After an early breakfast with your Everest summiteer, you will board the helicopter which will land in the hotel grounds. The flight to the Everest region will take 45 minutes and your route will run parallel to Eastern Himalayan range until we reach Lukla the gateway to the Everest region. After a short stop, we fly to Kongde lodge which is located at 14500 feet. Here the helicopter will land and shut down. After time with your summiteer pointing out the surrounding peaks, you will take some practice shots from the tee specially built for the occasion before playing your 2 holes. We will then have a glass of champagne / tea or coffee before boarding the helicopter for the flight over the beautiful Gokyo Lake, Everest and Amadablan base camps. The helicopter will then land in Lukla to re fuel before returning to Kathmandu. In the late afternoon you will be escorted to Kathmandu Durbar square home of the living goddess and the  location many temples and the old Royal palace before walking to the Tourist centre known as Thamel where you will meet with your Everest summiteer for drinks at the summiteers bar called Rumdoodles. Dinner tonight will be in the grounds of an old Rana Palace. Overnight Hyatt Regency Hotel. BLD

Day 3
After breakfast and before departing the hotel, there will be a ceremony conducted by monks from Boudinath to wish you luck and to bless your golf clubs. The drive to the Golf course takes 20 minutes.  The resort is located in a beautiful forest reserve which was traditionally a hunting reserve for the Royal family. The environs have changed little and there is plenty of wildlife to see amongst the trees while you are playing your round. Some of the holes have the Himalayas as a backdrop. On completion of your 17 holes, you will have lunch at the resort which will be followed by a visit to the Spa where you can enjoy some of the available treatments. Upon returning to the hotel you will have time to freshen up before we drive for 15 minutes to a well known Nepalese restaurant for a banquet in the traditional style. Day 4
Depart Kathmandu for your onward journey.B
