Mana Pools is all about wetlands, game and the mighty Zambezi

Picture yourself gliding in a canoe safari along the Zambezi River. On your bespoke tour of Mana Pools National Park you will be led by local guides, who will take their lead from you.

Mana Pools is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an important wetland area for Zimbabwe’s game. During the rainy season, most lodges are closed and the game moves elsewhere, but from April onwards, as the rains draw to an end and the pools in the bush at the lower end of the Zambezi River begin to dry up, the animals start to return. That is the time to be here. Mana Pools is one of the best wildlife-viewing locations in all of Africa.

Vast herds of elephant and buffalo join impala, eland, waterbuck, zebra and antelope in the sparse undergrowth which lends itself perfectly to walking safaris.

That said, we always recommend hopping into a canoe when the chance presents itself, as this is the most relaxed to explore this spectacular park while bringing you up close and very personal with the resident wildlife.
