About The Lakehouse
Perched on top of a hill overlooking Sultan Abu Bakar Lake and backed by state reserve forests, The Lakehouse offers 19 boutique rooms and suites in the Cameron Highlands. Set in an area known as "The Valley of Eternal Spring", the traditional Tudor-style property complete with whitewashed walls and exposed wooden frames was originally built by retired British Army Officer Colonel Stanley Jack Foster in 1970.
The hotel exudes a cosy yet luxurious colonial style, with antique furnishings scattered throughout the rooms and suites. In the privacy and comfort of the Resident House, the grand Foster Suite affords a traditional old English charm with a log fireplace, intimate dining area and lavish en suite bathroom complete with a sunken bath.
The Lakehouse Restaurant offers English cuisine from the a la carte menu, complemented by an impressive collection of the finest wines available in the Highlands. Alternatively, you can enjoy a traditional English afternoon tea on the sunny Lakeview Terrace or curl up with a good book in the Reading Lounge, while the Highlander Lounge is perfect for an after-dinner sundowner beside the roaring log fire.
As Malaysia's leading producer of flowers and tea, the Highlands are replete with beautiful plantations and unusual plant species which you won't find anywhere else in Malaysia. We recommend spending a day trekking through the jungle enjoying the fresh mountain air or exploring the Boh Tea Plantation before retreating back to the Satkara Spa in the evening for a traditional Malaysian massage using oils made from 20 traditional herbs and spices.
