Highlights

A family adventure in Botswana

Spend three nights in a tented camp specially designed to immerse your tribe into Botswana’s rich wilderness. Young explorers can enjoy tracking wildlife with expert guides as well as learning bush survival skills. Head off through the delta in pursuit of the Big Five. Watch your cubs gasp with excitement on a fun canoe ride. You can then retreat to creature comforts – bucket showers, campfires and delicious cuisine.

Embrace the wilderness

Your adventure begins as soon as you land. Personal guides will whisk you straight off on an exciting game drive. In the grassland, you’ll spy leopards, hyenas and buffalos. Arrive at the camp. In the shade of the jackalberry trees, a lunchtime feast awaits. As the afternoon temperatures cool, take a stroll with your guides. They’ll give you a crash course in animal behaviour and introduce you to the sights and sounds of the bush. End the day with a lantern-lit dinner and stories around the campfire.

Bush survival skills

There’s every excuse to rise early for a fun-filled walking safari. Traverse the floodplains scanning for warthogs, lechwes and a multitude of birds (nearly 500 species live in the lakes and palm islands). Track herds of zebras and get close to giraffes. You can learn how to weave baskets out of palm leaves and fashion bows and arrows out of native wood. Then step into a mokoro (dugout canoe) for a ride along the waterways to get close to crocodiles, leopards and wallowing hippos.

An unforgettable safari

Wake up at sunrise for an introduction to the types of tools used in the bush. Learn how to change a tyre of a 4x4 and how to cross a river – all vital information for a budding explorer. During your drive, soak up the parades of animals on show such as lions, elephants and wild dogs that roam the savannah. Later in the afternoon, you may wish to try your angling skills in the glossy lagoons. Tonight, celebrate with sundowners and toasted marshmallows by the campfire.

Skills for life

It’s your last morning, but before you go, brush up on your knowledge of the bush. Recap on the Big Five and how to build a camp fire from scratch. Your guides will put your survival skills to the test in a fun-filled interactive quiz. Try and identify several types of tracks, bird species and mammals before you become a fully fledged explorer. Then say goodbye and newfound friends before you board your light aircraft for you onward journey.
