About Le Sirenuse

In 1953 John Steinbeck famously described it "as an old family house converted into a first-class hotel", today this perception still remains. Le Sirenuse was in fact the tasteful seaside retreat of owners, the Sersale family, now onto their second generation under the exceptional management of Antonio Sersale.

Situated just 50km from Naples, the 18th century villa has a striking red and white exterior and stands almost half way up the hillside close to the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. All 58 rooms have hand-painted ceramic tile floors, white-washed walls and a private balcony or patio, with shuttered French doors, overlooking the bay.Sit among the lemon trees while relaxing by the pool or enjoy the views from the alfresco Champagne & Oyster Bar's private terrace. Restaurant La Sponda specialises mainly in Neapolitan dishes created by Tuscan Michelin-starred chef Matteo Temperini. All of Matteo's cuisine is typically flavours of the South, utilising fresh local ingredients.

Depending on the season, the hotel has an array of activities to be enjoyed. In the height of summer, head out on a daily boat trip to Nerano bay, or join the Maitre d'Hotel for an olive oil tasting. During spring and autumn, take a trip to the local fish market or climb the 1,700 steps to the village of Nocelle.
