About Kanana
Enjoy the wonder of the ever-changing wetlands of the Okavango Delta when you stay at Kanana. Nestling along a necklace of islands along the Xudum River this authentic camp offers seasonal activities on land and water from night-time game drives to trips on a glass-bottomed mokoro (canoe).
This romantic retreat in the heart of the Okavango Delta is the perfect honeymoon destination where you can sleep under the stars on a private deck. The intimate camp is made up of seven spacious twin and double-bed tents each with hot and cold running water and the luxury of a flush toilet. Enjoy your privacy while remaining a comfortable distance from the main camp and swimming pool. Children over the age of 10 are welcome and there is one specially designed family tent.
Whatever time of year you visit, you’ll find a diverse range of water or land activities which varies with the levels of the delta. This unique eco-system is fed by waters from the Angolan mountains, which spill out across the desert creating a magical wetland attracting a myriad of wildlife. It’s one of the few places you may see the endangered Cape wild dog along with hippopotamus, elephant and leopard during the twice daily game drives.
Birdwatchers will delight in a motor boat trip along the waterways as you can see Pel’s fishing owl and enjoy exclusive access to Southern Africa’s largest heronries. Fishing for tilapia and African sharptooth catfish is also a highlight of staying in Kanana.
