Indochina Adventures
Visiting Vietnam’s cities, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Hue and Hoi An as well as Ho Chi Minh.
Unwind in Phu Quoc Island before time in the Mekong Delta. You’ll travel to Cambodia’s Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, ending at the colonial city of Luang Prabang in Laos. Explore Indochina’s beautiful beaches, ancient streets and tropical jungles. Take a sampan cruise through the Mekong Delta and explore phenomenal monuments on foot, by bicycle and even by cyclo (pedicab). Witness market-life in Vietnam and see Cambodia’s forgotten jungle temples. Afterwards, head north to experience the welcoming tribal cultures of Laos.
You will be met by an A&K representative and transferred to your hotel. Settle into your room and relax before your Street Food & Culture Tour through the Old Quarter.
Hanoi
Spend the day exploring the highlights of this spectacular capital. Your guide will join you on foot, bar car and by local cyclo as you visit the fascinating cultural hotspots. See Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Hoa Lò Prison to learn about the all-to-recent history of the Vietnam War, before visiting scenic Hoan Kiem Lake and the One Pillar Pagoda.
Hanoi – Ninh Binh
Travel south to Ninh Binh. Take a boat trip to the nearby Van Long Nature Reserve. Discover the scenic everglades and dramatic limestone karsts. Heading deeper into the resort, you’ll discover the spectacular caves here as well as the Trang An grottoes. The abundant bird and wildlife here is another attraction, and for many the monkeys are the stars of the show.
Ninh Binh – Hue
Fly to Hue and transfer to your next hotel. After a little time to yourself, meet your guide and Vespa driver to get acquainted with local life here. This excursion offers a remarkable combination of adventure, exploration and authentic experience, as you take the roads less travelled through Hue. Finish up with a dining experience with a local family where you’ll learn the finer points of everyday life in this fascinating destination.
Hue – Hoi An
Take the day to tour the cultural and historic sites of Hue. Take a boat trip out on the iconic Perfume River, visit Dong Ba Market and hear all the local legends. After sampling the local cuisine as well, transfer by private car to Hoi An. Your route takes you over the Hai Van Pass where you can see for miles over the jungle-clad hills.

A day at leisure allows you to immerse yourself within the artistic atmosphere of the UNESCO-recognised Ancient Town of Hoi An. As afternoon turns to evening, join the city’s residents as they migrate to the banks of the Thu Bon River. Enjoy the buzzing nature of Hoi An as restaurants and bars offer never-ending ‘happy hours’, locals barter for artwork and tailors whip up shirts and dresses before you’ve even had time to ask how much.
Hoi An – Ho Chi Minh City
Transfer to Danang Airport and fly to Ho Chi Minh City. Meet your guide at your hotel and head to the Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible tunnel network amounting to hundreds of miles. These were built during resistance to the French colonisation and utilised extensively during the Vietnam War. This impressive relic gives an amazing insight into life here during the war. Afterwards, explore Ho Chi Minh City’s famous night markets at your own pace.
Ho Chi Minh City – Phu Quoc Island
After breakfast, fly to the beautiful island of Phu Quoc. This paradise in the Gulf of Thailand provides the perfect chance to recharge your batteries. Spend a few days of sun, sea and R&R. An idyllic beach-break setting, Phu Quoc is teeming with delightful restaurants, warm shallows and great stretches of pale sands.

When not enjoying the beaches, head out to explore the island’s protected national park. Here, the tropical rain forests have been completely preserved; gaze at the natural waterfalls, coral reefs, wetlands and this wildlife-abundant landscape.
Phu Quoc Island – Ho Chi Minh City
Fly back to Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to your hotel. This evening, your guide will collect you from your hotel to experience the nightlife in this exciting city. Discover the craft-beer-producing culture here as you tour some of the 45 local microbreweries in the Ho Chi Minh City area. After dinner at one of these, head back to your hotel by cyclo.
Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be
This morning meet with an A&K representative and transfer to Cai Be. Here you will embark on your private cruise of the inner Mekong Delta by traditional sampan boat. But before you set sail through these mysterious waters, take some time to visit the colourful floating markets of Cai Be.
Mekong Delta
Tour the remote villages and historic monuments of this picturesque setting. As you discover these forgotten waterways, look out for monkeys, sun bears and other creatures on the jungle-covered banks. This is one of the most biodiverse regions in the world.
Mekong Delta – Phnom Penh, Cambodia
After a relaxed breakfast on board, disembark at Chau Doc pier where your guide will be waiting. Your speedboat transfer takes you across the Vietnamese/Cambodian border as you head to the capital of Phnom Penh. Here you will be met at the jetty by your guide for your transfer to your Phnom Penh Hotel.
Phnom Penh
Enjoy a full day exploring the highlights of the Phnom Penh with your guide. Visit monuments, glittering royal palaces and see how the story of this city it written in the architecture. You can also learn about the darker, more-recent history of the country, and see how the local residents experience day-to-day life here.
Phnom Penh – Siem Reap
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap, the home of abandoned jungle ruins and thriving grandiose temples. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy an afternoon at leisure before embarking on your evening foodie adventure. Immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle of Siem Reap as you zip around town by Vespa, visiting foodie hotspots and sampling local beer and rice wine.

Enjoy a full day of exploring by bicycle at the ancient Angkor Archaeological Park with your guide. Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-east Asia. This vast expanse of ancient ground covers dense rainforest, and you can expect to see the resident monkeys as you explore. Discover the magnificent remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, including the famous Temple of Angkor Wat and the Bayon Temple with its countless sculptures.
Siem Reap – Luang Prabang, Laos
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Laos. Arrive in the magical city of Luang Prabang and meet your guide before heading to the stunning Rosewood Luang Prabang. Surrounded by an exceptionally beautiful landscape, this town remains one of the most-hidden treasures of South-east Asia.

Rise early for the Buddhist ritual of 'Tak Bat'. After breakfast, visit Big Brother Mouse, a local project that publishes books to help rural children learn to read, relying on visitors to distribute them. Next stop is the remote village of Ban Phadaeng. After delivering the books to the schoolhouse, you have the chance to partake in some fishing for today's lunch. Eat with a local family and experience the ‘Baci’ ceremony which wishes travellers luck on future journeys.
Luang Prabang
After a relaxed breakfast, visit to the wonderful Manda Lao Elephant Sanctuary to meet these majestic creatures. Their aim is to protect both domesticated and wild elephants across Laos and South-east Asia, and to bring numbers back to their historic norm. Finish your day with a sunset cocktail with picturesque views of the beautiful city of Luang Prabang and the lush banks of the Mekong.

Enjoy a leisurely morning in this scenic destination before transferring to the airport for your flight home via Bangkok. Touch down in London after an action-packed adventure in one of the most fascinating regions on the planet.
