Kwessi Dunes Lodge lies within the red shifting sands of the Namibian desert – a private place where time appears to stand still.
The camp consists of 12 authentic chalets in the heart of Sossusvlei located deep in the NamibRand Nature Reserve, a vast wilderness of more than 200,000 hectares set within a silhouette of craggy mountains.
Inside each lodge you will find your own star-gazing room where you can make the most of one of the least light-polluted areas on Earth to appreciate the wonders of the night sky.
Each chalet features a vintage four-poster bed and en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers. High thatched roofs, canvas walls, and air-conditioning help to keep it the rooms cool. There is also a veranda where you can enjoy views across the everchanging landscape which is home to desert-adapted wildlife from gemsbok to bat-eared foxes and springboks to kudu.
Activities from the lodge include climbing the highest dunes in the world at Sossusvlei, hot air balloon and helicopter flights (at extra cost), quad biking, nature walks, and signature spa treatments.
After a guided nature drive you can relax by the swimming pool with a book borrowed from the on-site library. Enjoy a pre-dinner sundowner from the well-stocked bar. The campfire is the perfect place to reflect on your day in the desert with family and new-found friends.
