About Hoanib Valley Camp
Hoanib Valley Camp lies along the bank of the vast Obias River, an oasis of green dotted with the rare oryx within the hauntingly stark landscape of the Skeleton Coast.
Enjoy the intimacy of six tents at this remarkably remote eco-friendly retreat. The solar powered camp allows you to literally hear the silence of the desert. Hoanib Valley Camp is not only a superb spot for viewing wildlife, but you can also rub shoulders with the resident giraffe population. Get up close and personal to these majestic animals with a day in the field with the camp’s expert.
Back at base you can relax in the African-inspired tents which are raised on a deck with en-suite bathrooms and have private verandas. Decorated in a contemporary style with a neutral palette reflecting the natural environment on your doorstep. The camp welcomes children from the age of six and offers one spacious family room. Enjoy dinner in the rustic lounge before an evening of stargazing in the clear night sky.
Join experts from the camp to track the desert-adapted wildlife, from rhino, elephant to lion and learn about the fascinating culture of the nomadic Himba tribe. Discover more about the flora and fauna with a guided nature walk through the dry river bed before returning to your home comforts which await you at Hoanib Valley Camp.
