Only an hour away by flight from the dusty plains of the Serengeti yet on arrival at Rubondo it is a true tropical paradise with verdant jungle and the mighty Lake Victoria, this is without question an alternative to a beach option before or after a safari. The camp has carefully been constructed using local materials and techniques so that the camp blends seamlessly into this untouched wilderness. The camp is set around a small bay the main area comprises elegant open-sided mess areas and a swimming pool with enviable views of the lake. As with all wildlife encounters the chimp sightings cannot always be guaranteed. Rubondo Island Camp is a great choice for families the camp welcomes children over the age of 6 years old.
