Kibale: see the chimpanzee at play and track down the elusive forest elephant
Your tailored safari to Kibale National Park offers easy entry to one of Uganda's most exciting rainforests. With the expert guidance of the team, you’ll have the chance to see up to 13 different species of primate, including the red colobus and L'Hoest's monkey.
However, the biggest draw to the National Park is the chance to track chimpanzee in their natural habitat. More closely related to humans than any other mammal, these adorable apes are an absolute delight to witness as they go about their daily business in the humid rainforest canopy.
Meanwhile if you’re keen on botany, or would just love to see the forest’s flitting and fluttering array of butterfly, you won’t want to miss the park’s many shaded trails. Your guide will know all the best spots where you can amble through the rich flora and fauna, aloud with the calls of 335 species of bird.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for some of the forest’s lesser-spotted wildlife, too. Experience the thrill as you pass ground-based dwellers such as buffalo, giant forest hog and antelope. If you’re extremely fortunate, you may even spot the elusive forest elephant as it tramps slowly through the undergrowth. And that is a rare and very special moment indeed to experience.
