From a space-age pod, inspired by the Millenium Falcon, with Echo Camp as your base, you can make the historic trip to the South Pole.
From the air, the domed pop-up sky pods, made from composite fibreglass, look like shiny black pebbles balancing on the frozen lunar landscape.
Arrive from Cape Town by private jet and you will: “…feel like you’re off the planet without leaving Earth”. As you step from the plane into the private lounge a martini, shaken with 10,000-year-old ice, will be waiting for you.
Echo Camp consists of six futuristic bedrooms all have heating and floor-to-ceiling windows for you to marvel at the white wilderness beyond.
It is perfect for exclusive use groups catering for up to 12 people. During your stay, you can journey to the South Pole, test your skiing skills, or visit a magnificent colony of Emperor penguins at Atka Bay when the chicks are taking their first steps.
Each of the astronaut-inspired bedrooms have been designed for two guests, with a nod to the space-age and accented with ultra-luxe furnishings that could have been beamed down directly from Mars. Each bedroom is six metres in diameter complete with a cosy lounge area and an adjoining washroom.
During your stay you can join a guide to take part in fat biking, skidooing and 4x4 arctic truck driving, hiking, ice-climbing and mountaineering.
Enjoy fine dining as each meal is crafted to the highest culinary standards, using only the freshest ingredients and award-winning wines from South Africa.
