The Greg Mortimer offers everything you could want in an Antarctic cruiser. Custom-built to be comfortable, safe, eco-friendly and the perfect viewing platform, it’s one of the world’s most advanced expedition vessels.
104 metres from bow to stern, the Greg Mortimer can host up to 160 passengers across its 80 staterooms. The majority of the rooms feature a balcony, so you can easily step out to watch the glassy waters, ice mountains and local wildlife. Alternatively, cosy up and admire the landscape from inside; most categories of stateroom onboard feature floor-to-ceiling windows perfectly framing the dramatic landscape. For families, the option of interconnecting staterooms mean you can stay close to your loved ones, without sacrificing your own space.
Of course, as comfortable as the accommodation is, you’re really here for what’s outside. The ship boasts countless observation points from which to enjoy the scenery. Be sure to bring your camera with you when boarding one of the hydraulic viewing platforms, which ease you away from any obstructions.
We know the environment is a top priority for our clients heading to this stark, beautiful region. The Greg Mortimer has been designed to minimise emissions, maximise fuel efficiency, limit plastic use and reduce light pollution. There’s even an ingenious anchorless system for stopping mid-cruise, which means the seabed remains undisturbed.
With her maiden commercial voyage in 2019, this sleek, modern ship has a bright future navigating the Southern Ocean – and you could be a part of it. Embark on an A&K Antarctic expedition, aboard the Greg Mortimer.
From the moment you step onto the Greg Mortimer, we aim to give you the best hospitality service possible. Starting with the official Captain's Welcome, as our guests, you're welcome to 24 hours complimentary coffee, tea and snack facilities in addition to a range of different menu options and courses for each meal.
Meals are served in a large restaurant with family style dining, perfect to swap stories with your new expedition family. Additionally, a private dining area will also be available on request. Enjoy the range of house wine, beers and soft drinks included with dinner after a long day in the wild, preparing yourself for another exciting day to follow.
On the last day of your trip, the team on the Greg Mortimer put on a special farewell four-course dinner and cocktails – a perfect way to reflect on your time on the ship and consolidate lifelong friendships with the people you've met on-board.
