About Minshuku Daikichi
Daikichi is a traditional Japanese inn that dates back to feudal times. It offers five simple rooms which are furnished with tatami mats and futon bedding in typical minshuku style. The rooms all enjoy views out over the nearby wooded valley, providing a beautiful and memorable look at the harmonious countryside of Japan. Other guests share the bathroom and toilet facilities, as with most traditional accommodation, making this an opportunity to embrace another culture’s way of life.
A quiet setting, only a stroll away from central Tsumago, Daikichi sits in an ideal location for those who wish to explore the historic highway of Nakasendo Way. After trekking the 8km from Magome, or using the trail to look out for Japanese macaque and other rare wildlife, Daikichi’s shared bath is perfect for soothing your aching muscles and sharing your adventures. Having worked up an appetite, embrace authenticity along with communality. The evening feast of local specialities is always well received. It provides the perfect time to join in with shared jokes and conversation with your fellow guests as you enjoy your feast as a group.
