Relax in Laos’ friendly capital
Compared to the hectic, bustling capitals in other Southeast Asian countries, Vientiane's relaxing atmosphere makes it feel compact and manageable. Our bespoke Vientiane tours will help really get to know Laos’ capital, one of the smallest and least populated in the world.
After you've done the round of temples and Buddhist monuments (including Pha That Luang, one of the most famous in Laos) the best thing to do here is kick back with a cold Beerlao, the national beer. Then sit and watch the sun set over the Mekong River. A Vientiane tour will have a different atmosphere to much of the rest of your Laos adventure. There’s a real cosmopolitan and international crowd here plus a choice of superb boutique hotels.
Most of the key sites are close by, so it’s easy to explore on foot or by bicycle. Or you can simply flag down one of the many tuk tuks that buzz around the city. Wander through the night market, which sets up on the banks of the Mekong each evening and sample some of the enticing food that’s on offer in the countless stalls.
