Clear waters, abundant nature and unique Malay culture
Langkawi, known as the jewel of Kedah, is an archipelago of 99 islands off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. Our tailor-made Langkawi holidays allow you to relax on sandy beaches beside lush natural scenery or dive in the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea. You’ll also discover a rich and diverse local culture, known for its unique traditions.
The largest in the archipelago and the main tourist centre is Pulau Langkawi. It has a population of around 45,000 and it’s also a duty-free island, so the shopping here is particularly good value. The only other inhabited island is nearby Pulau Tuba. The clear waters of Pulau Payar Marine Park make it a popular destination for snorkelling and diving enthusiasts. A further five islands are revealed each day at low tide, adding to the options for adventure.
While in Langkawi, we recommend a visit to Southeast Asia’s first UNESCO Geopark, where you can go in search of eagles, monkeys and otters among incredible limestone rock formations.
Whether you choose to explore the islands and clear blue waters by kayak, or simply unwind on the beach, a Langkawi tour is a great way to finish your Malaysia holiday.
