About The Eastern & Oriental Express
Watch the world go by as you relax in your colonial-style cabin on board The Eastern & Oriental Express. View the ever-changing landscape of ancient temples to shimmering skyscrapers as you wind your way through South-east Asia between Bangkok and Singapore.
Once you step on board the green and gold carriage you’ll discover a touch of air-conditioned luxury. Head to the open observation car where you can enjoy panoramic views as you zigzag past lush jungle, historic sites and quaint villages.
The three-night journey takes you from Bangkok to Singapore, stopping off at Kanchanaburi and Kuala Kangsar. During one of the stops, you can take a guided tour through paddy fields where you can sample the local produce. More adventurous trekkers can join our expert naturalist for an invigorating hill-trek.
The two-night journey takes you northeast from Singapore to Bangkok crossing Malaysia over the Straits of Johor. Your tour includes a visit to the famous River Kwai Bridge and Thai Burma Railway Museum.
Back on board you can choose to travel in a Pullman, state or presidential cabin which all feature Thai silk furnishing, plush seats and warm cherrywood panelling. At night your steward will transform your light airy cabin into cosy sleeping quarters complete with crisp linen sheets.
Toast your day with an aperitif from the bar before heading to the dining car for dinner and live piano music. Savour your meal as the sun sets and you return to the ultimate room with a view.
