Meet your guide and set out this morning to Doi Intanon National Park by private vehicle. As you explore this breath-takingly beautiful high-altitude rainforest, keep your camera at the ready for sightings of wildlife and rare birds. You may also visit the forgotten jungle temples and enchanting waterfalls found here, as well as remote tribal villages.
Your first stop is the 10th-century temple of Wat Phrathad Chom Thong. This sacred site, shrouded in mystery, is a relic of Thailand’s pre-Buddhist days. Move on to admire the Wachiratharn Waterfall, the most powerful within Doi Intanon National Park, before viewing the Royal Twin Pagoda. Take a break from your hiking adventure with a picnic lunch served in a scenic spot.
Next, discover the Ang Ka Nature Trail where the rainforest is thickest. Keep watch for restless gibbon in the trees above you or the unique hog badger prowling the forest floor. The park is also a hotspot for bird watchers, containing hundreds of different species which can be heard chattering melodically throughout the forest.
