Sunshine, seafood and unspoiled sandy beaches
Despite being fringed by perfect white sand beaches and tropical waters, the tear-shaped island of Phu Quoc is still relatively undiscovered. On our bespoke Phu Quoc holidays you can explore the rustic fishing villages and unspoiled beaches that dot the landscape and the colourful reefs that ring the island. Phu Quoc is also a great place to sample some of Vietnam’s seafood, with regional specialities of sea snake, octopus, shrimp and lobster.
The lush national park that covers half of Phu Quoc is home to rare loris, hornbill, otter and over 1,000 species of plant. Mangroves spread out from the shores of the park, supporting an abundance of life and creating a diverse environment to explore. During your time on the island you can hike up Mount Chua, visit the traditional villages of Ham Ninh or go kayaking on the Cua Can River.
One of the best ways to explore the island is by bicycle. Travelling on two wheels you can ride up to Phu Quoc’s northern reaches and explore its more remote coves and beaches. Another popular activity on Phu Quoc holidays is diving. The reefs that surround the island abound with colourful marine life while the clear waters guarantee a great view. Two of the best destinations for diving are the An Thoi Archipelago and Turtle Island. Both largely untouched by development, they give you the chance to see Vietnam’s natural beauty at its best.
