Stay at eco-friendly Arkaba and take part in a conservation initiative to help re-introduce the endearing marsupial, the western quoll, to South Australia. By staying at this Australian homestead you will not only help support its conservation efforts but also its sustainability project.
Join one of Arkaba’s field guides for an exclusive evening trek to view nocturnal wildlife. You can track radio-collared feral cat or help set up trip cameras that monitor key sites across the 24,000 hectare property. The conservation programme was introduced in 2014 by the Foundation for Australia’s Most Endangered Species (FAME). The aim is to re-introduce the western quoll to South Australia which was threatened with extinction. Discover more about the programme during your trek.
In addition to the wildlife focus, each aspect of this homestead from energy usage to waste disposal, recycling of bottles or the use of eco-certified cleaning materials has been carefully planned to minimise the impact on the land. Arkaba has adopted a ‘buy local’ principle with its food and wine sourced entirely from South Australian producers and the chef working his own local touches to the menu.
Wild Bush Luxury makes a firm commitment to the principles of sustainability and conservation while hosting you in this ecologically unique environment.
