About Reykjavik Konsulat Hotel
This city-centre hotel has a history that is part of Reykjavík’s rich fabric. The building was a department store in the 1900s, run by Consul Thomsen’s family and one of the city’s landmarks. Now renovated with a range of modern amenities, the hotel is well-appointed and well-positioned for a city break in Iceland’s awe-inspiring capital.
All the rooms are typically Icelandic and natural building materials have been used throughout. Just as in keeping with Iceland’s wonderful nature and past, the spa features a 19th-century stone wall which adds a sense of timelessness to your hours spent here.
Guests can enjoy creative and healthy cuisine in the restaurant which remains open all day or the hotel is perfectly positioned for city exploration – just a short stroll away is Laugavegur Street if you fancy shopping and nightlife or, for a more cultural experience, head next door for a performance at Harpa Concert Hall.
