Opt for a heavenly loch down in the Scottish Highlands
The highlands are the romantic part of Scotland – red deer rule the hills, eagles rule the skies, and legend has it that the Loch Ness Monster rules the water. Mystical landscapes flash before your eyes as the mists roll the hills out of view, shadows and sunlight move across the fields, and the snow-capped mountains sparkle.
The largest region in Scotland, with the highest mountain in the UK and home to three languages, it’s like stepping into another world when you journey across the roads and rivers. Tour the Scottish islands, such as the Isle of Skye and the Isle of Mull, while enjoying the opportunity to stop at one of the many distilleries along the way to sample a dram (or two) of whisky. Landscapes are punctuated with crumbling ruins of castles and historic battlefields, and the famous ‘fairy pools’.
For a bit of rest and relaxation, after enjoying one of the many hiking routes or scenic drives, settle down in one of the luxurious hotels on offer or visit the quaint town of Aviemore, which offers boutique retail therapy.
Discover the proud Scottish Highlands. It’s just as beautiful as you’ve imagined.
