Swim with the graceful manta rays in the crystal-clear waters of the Maldives. Grab a snorkel to glide among these peaceful sea creatures which can grow to a size of eight metres. Start your experience by taking an exhilarating speedboat trip to the Indian Ocean hotspot where the mass gatherings take place from June to November.
Hanifaru Bay is a protected marine reserve which is carefully managed with entry limited to a small number of visitors to help conserve the environment. Explore the world’s largest manta ray feeding station when you dive into the azure waters and see them cleaning their skin on the coral reefs. You could find yourself swimming with up to 100 of these gentle giants.
You will join the Maldives’ only full-time manta ray research project. Listed as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the manta ray is not always easy to find in the wild. You may also see dolphin and turtle who also call this coral lagoon home.
