About Gangtey Lodge
Gangtey Lodge is an idyllic haven overlooking the beautiful Phobjikha Valley from high in the eastern Himalaya. If you can tear yourself away from the hotel, however, you’ll see the traditional Bhutanese way of life first-hand. The nearby Gangteng Monastery is unforgettable, incredibly ornate and welcoming to all visitors. Your hikes around the local vicinity provide fruitful nature spotting, with monkey and red panda possibilities to look out for. You might even get incredibly lucky and see a snow leopard.
The lodge, with its spectacular views, acts as a luxurious base for your adventures and excursions. Though you’ll be pleased to come back to the plush leather sofas and fireplaces in the lounge, before you’re filled to the brim with traditional Bhutanese dishes expertly prepared. The warm and relaxed lounge is perfect for those leg-resting, story-sharing, belly-clutching evenings.
The 12 rooms are stylishly decorated with warm fabrics and earthen tones. Each has a fireplace and spacious private bathroom, making for a perfect night’s sleep. As well as the hiking trails and monastery close by, you also have access to archery and hot air ballooning. The Crane Centre is nearby too, where you can see the rare black-necked crane and take eco-tours through the valley.
