About Amaya Langdale Nuwara Eliya
With sweeping views of the emerald tea plantations, Amaya Langdale is a colonial-style retreat in the Nuwara Eliya’s sloping mountain range. It’s a picturesque escape with a manicured lawn, good enough for croquet, colourful flowerbeds and a wraparound white-picket fence.
Rooms feel homely with wood-panel flooring, warm tones and hand-woven textiles. Some have private terraces – the perfect spot for a fresh brew (the finest blends of course) as you look towards the mist-swaddled peaks.
After days of hiking through the strawberry fields, you can lounge by the infinity pool. Ask one of the friendly staff for a cup of Ceylon tea as you recline under the parasol. Relieve any body tension at the spa offering reflexology and traditional head massages.
The restaurant specialises in Sri Lankan cuisine as well as an array international staples. At the bar, try an arrack-based cocktail – the country’s signature liquor.
