UK - Amman

When you arrive at Amman, we’ll meet you and ensure you’ll soon be ensconced in the pleasures and privacy that the Four Seasons Hotel Amman provides.

Amman - Jerash

Your own private guide will provide an in-depth tour of Amman and Jerash, sharing insights at the Archaeological Museum, the Roman Theatre and the Folklore Museum. High above the city, at the ancient Citadel, you can observe the traces of Amman's many lives, from the regal columns of a Roman temple to the elegant capitals of a Byzantine church. You’ll head closer to discover the endlessly inventive carvings of the Umayyad Palace. Nearby Jerash is one of the best preserved provincial cities of the Roman Empire. From the imposing South Gate to the Street of Columns, a local guide will lead you through 2,000 years of history.

Amman - Mount Nebo - Madaba - Kerak - Petra

Start the day with a quick stop at the Dead sea. If you wish to experience a mud treatment this can be arranged locally. Sightseeing days don’t get richer than this. Heading south on the ancient Kings' Highway, you’ll visit a succession of world-class sites. Mount Nebo is the panoramic mountain from which Moses first glimpsed the Promised Land. Madaba houses an incredible Mosaic Map that contains the oldest surviving plan of the Holy Land. Kerak’s Crusader castle contains battlements and tunnels that you can picture medieval knights scheming and plotting from. And then you reach the archaeological epicentre of Petra.

Petra

Delve into the ancient, rose-red city of Petra. Your guide will lead you in through the Siq, a narrow gorge flanked by soaring cliffs. This leads to the spectacular Al-Khazneh (Treasury), carved directly into the sheer rock face. There are hundreds of elaborate rock-cut tombs and a massive Roman-style theatre to explore in this beautiful ancient complex, all of which will be illuminated by your guide’s stories and expert insights.

Little Petra - Wadi Rum

After breakfast there’ll be time to visit the notable tombs of Little Petra (Al Beidha) before heading off to the desert sands of Wadi Rum. Otherwise known as the Valley of the Moon, the landscape and atmosphere here can seem almost supernatural. Lawrence of Arabia loved this area and, as you visit welcoming Bedouin camps and have fun exploring the desert dunes by 4x4, it’s easy to appreciate why. Discovery Bedu Camp offers every creature comfort possible under a canopy of stars.
