Retreat to the cool foothills of the Al Hajar Mountains in Oman. Your local guide will lead you on an exhilarating trek to the country’s highest peak and down into the deepest canyons and wadis.
You will be transferred from your hotel in Muscat into the Jebel Akhdar range by air-conditioned 4x4. First stop will be Nizwa Souq renowned for its antiques and silver jewellery. You will have plenty of time to browse the stalls which also sells rose water and locally-made perfume using frankincense. Enjoy a brief photo-stop at the Round Tower Fort head towards Wadi Nakher located in the depths of a deep canyon.
From here you will drive to the pretty mountain village of Misfah where stone houses are still in existence. On the road to Jebel Shams you will stop at the terrace farming village of Wadi Ghul known as the Grand Canyon of Arabia. During the day you will stop for lunch and relax with cool drinks. Sit back and enjoy the dramatic views before embarking on your ascent of Jebel Shams. Standing at a height of over 3,000 metres, you will capture breath-taking pictures to share with family and friends.

Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. The tour includes a picnic lunch. This tour starts from Muscat and you can choose to stay overnight at Jabel Akhdar. You will be transferred to each stop by 4x4. The walking distances will not be far in terms of hiking.
