From the darkness of the desert, the stars will shine at their brightest. Depending on what time of year you visit 1000 Night Camp and Canvas Club, you could spot the new crescent moon which marks the beginning of Ramadan in the ninth month of the Islamic year. A&K’s local guides at each camp can help identify some of the breath-taking constellations which have been a guiding light for the Bedouins who live here.
Retreat to 1000 Nights Camp which nestles in a valley dotted with cineraria trees, 40 kilometres from the main road. Stay in the Wahiba Sands one of the hand-made wool Bedouin tents (no electricity generators and no mobile phones). At night the camp is only lit by the soft glow of paraffin lamps. Canvas Club offers bespoke luxury camping where you can enjoy a private sundowner around a camp fire under the canopy of a romantic starlit sky.
