About The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel
The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel was Hawaii’s first island resort when it opened in 1965. Since then it has grown and developed into one of Hawaii’s favourite locations. There are 252 rooms (including 10 suites), all of which are decorated and furnished to a high standard.
Active guests can enjoy sport in many different guises. From tennis on one of the 11 courts situated right next to the ocean to bocce ball and more traditional golf at the resort’s own course. For families who come to Mauna Kea, the kids can happily spend their days in the Keiki Children’s Club while you soak up some Hawaiian sun or take advantage of the resort’s shopping centre. Here you can purchase gifts and jewellery or stock up on necessities for tennis, golf or simply heading to the beach.
When it comes to dining, you have several choices across six restaurants and bars. Manta has amazing views of the ocean from its open-air location while Hau Tree focuses on amazing beachside cocktails, accompanied by salads and grilled meats. After completing your golf game, head to Number 3 at the Golf Club house or sample some traditional Hawaiian cuisine at the Mauna Kea Luau. At Clambake, you can enjoy some of the freshest seafood or perhaps go one step fresher at Copper Bar which serves cocktails and sushi next to panoramic views of Kauna’oa Bay.
