Highlights
Hawaii Family Style
This 12-day Hawaiian family vacation covers four islands. On Oahu, visit historic Pearl Harbor, the white-sand beaches of Waikiki and learn to surf on the North Shore. After a short flight to Big Island, you can zip-line over an extinct volcano, snorkel with manta rays and take a helicopter ride over Kilauea, the world’s most active volcano. Then it’s on to Maui to cycle down Haleakala at sunrise, witness tropical waterfalls along the scenic road to Hana, and kayak with humpback whales and sea turtles. Finish your Hawaiian adventure with a day on the beautiful island of Lanai.
Fly to Los Angeles and stay overnight in Santa Monica, a vibrant beach district seven miles from Los Angeles International airport. Check in to Casa Del Mar for the night, and relax before your flight to Oahu tomorrow.
Los Angeles – Oahu (North Shore Adventure)
Today your expert guide takes you on a tour of Oahu’s North Shore, which attracts surfers from around the globe to ride the perfectly formed waves. Before hitting the breakers, head to Haleiwa Town to shop and take a light local lunch. Then enjoy a surfing lesson at a top beach. Or visit a small tributary for a stand-up paddleboard lesson. In the afternoon, pick up a shave ice to cool down and head back to your resort.
Oahu - Honolulu and the Pearl Harbor
Enjoy a full-day guided city tour of Honolulu and the Pearl Harbor Historic Site. Home to the USS Arizona and USS Missouri Memorials, Pearl Harbor is the number one visitor destination in Hawaii. Learn how the infamous Japanese attack here brought the United States into World War II. In the afternoon, visit Waikiki for a tour of Hawaii's top shopping and entertainment district. After dinner in Waikiki, the rest of the evening is at leisure.
Big Island
After checking out of your hotel, head to the airport to drop off your rental car with enough time to catch your flight to Big Island. On arrival, pick up another rental car and head to your hotel on the stunning Kohala Coast. The rest of the day is at your leisure to relax on the beaches, explore the local area or enjoy the incredible range of amenities offered by the Fairmont Orchid.
Big Island
Experience a doors-off helicopter flight over Big Island’s rainforests and waterfalls, as you head to Kīlauea Volcano. Continuously erupting for over thirty years, you can even feel the heat from your helicopter. Afterwards, your volcanologist guide (a professor at University of Hawaii) takes you on an exciting journey through the rugged landscape of Kaʻū. Visit Jaggar Museum, Nāhuku and Halema‘uma‘u Crater, get acquainted with the local legends and take lunch at Volcano House, perched on a crater edge.
Big Island
This morning, enjoy your hotel’s luxurious amenities. In the afternoon, your driver will take you on a breathtaking sunset and stargazing adventure atop mount Mauna Kea – one of the only places in the world where you can drive from sea level to 14,000 feet in just two hours. Pause for a picnic-style dinner before attempting the summit for a sensational sunset. At night, hear about the wonders of the Hawaiian night skies during a stargazing experience.
Maui
It's time to say farewell to the Big Island and aloha to Maui. On arrival, pick up your hire car and drive to Montage Kapalua Bay Resort, your home for the next four nights. The island is famous for its natural beauty spots, dormant volcanoes and palm-fringed beaches. The rest of the day is free for you to explore.
Maui - Road to Hana
This morning, the adventure starts with a scenic drive on the road to Hana. Regarded as one of the spectacular drives in the world, this 103-kilometre stretch takes in tropical waterfalls, lush rainforest and secluded beaches. Don’t miss the Ke'anae Peninsula, the Hanawi waterfall and the black-sand beach at Wai'anapanapa. A cocktail or two on the beach as the sun sets is a great way to end the day.
Maui
Today, you’ll see Maui from the water as you embark on a kayaking adventure. Pick the right season (November to May) and you could get up close and personal with migrating humpback whales. On this relaxed paddle offshore, you also have the chance to snorkel with sea turtles. In the evening, enjoy fine dining on a sunset cruise and finish the night under a blanket of stars as you relax on the top deck.
Maui
Today will be yours to spend at your leisure. Relax at your luxury hotel and, in the evening, experience an authentic Hawaiian luau – a traditional Hawaiian party that is usually accompanied by vibrant entertainment and delicious, traditional food such as poi, kalua pig, poke, lomi salmon, opihi, haupia, and beer. Of course, the luau would not be complete without traditional Hawaiian music and hula.
Maui - UK
It’s time to say farewell to Maui as your exciting Hawaiian adventure comes to an end. Head to the airport to drop off your hire car, leaving plenty of time to catch your flight back home.
