The power, the noise, the ambience of the world’s most stunning waterfalls
Whilst the waterfalls at Iguazú may not be the world’s best known, they do hold a legitimate claim to being the most spectacular. Standing taller than Niagara falls and twice as wide, the falls occupy a three kilometre stretch of the Iguazú River. And they’re located deep in the jungle, making your Iguazú adventure an exciting journey into the wild.
The word Iguazú means ‘great water’ and rightly so. The falls themselves are just the start of your Iguazú holiday. The Iguazú National Park offers dramatic jungle trails with the chance to spot a spectacular diversity of birds and wildlife.
A little further south, more intrepid explorers will discover the only recently accessible Iberá wetlands. Home to caiman, marsh deer, anaconda and giant stork, these verdant wetlands can be explored on horseback or by canoe.
The best time for an Iguazú adventure is spring or autumn. At these times of year, heat and water levels in the area are optimal for an incredible holiday.
