Rosewood’s first South American hotel is an architecturally impressive, art-filled urban oasis in the heart of the Brazilian city São Paulo.
The 160 rooms and suites are spread across a former maternity hospital and a Jean Nouvel-designed vertical garden tower inspired by this South American country’s lush Atlantic Forest.
Rosewood São Paulo is conveniently located in Cidade Matarazzo – a complex of early 20th-century buildings preserved and transformed into high-end boutiques and private residences. Philippe Starck-outfitted interiors have created warm woods, earthy tones and 450 unique artworks. Created exclusively with local artists, the collection includes sculptures, paintings, drawings, and textiles.
The meticulous restoration of the 1920s maternity hospital was led by entrepreneur Alexandre Allard and designed by the Pritzker Prize-winning architect Nouvel. The focus has been to successfully emphasise the sustainability and preservation of Brazil's cultural heritage.
The suites are spread across the restored Matarazzo Maternity wing and the dazzling vertical gardens of Mata Atlântica Tower. Surrounded by lush gardens, Rosewood São Paulo offers sophisticated and diverse dining options and a jazz bar. You can choose from three restaurants including the 24-hour Le Jardin in the hotel lobby and Blaise which serves classics with a modern twist.
A rooftop infinity pool is the place to be for a view across the city, while a second pool lies within tropical greenery. After a day exploring you can relax at the Asaya spa enjoying a signature treatment.
