Immerse yourself in the lives of the Kayapó tribe during a visit to the Amazon. Explore the hidden treasures of the rainforest while enjoying the comfort of A&K’s exclusive camp which is open for just two months a year (May-July). Meet the indigenous people when you venture to their traditional village while enjoying the comfort of Kayapó Camp, complete with your own private chef and host.
Join the Kayapó warriors for a hike through local trails while keeping an eye open for the unique wildlife and pristine flora and fauna which inhabit the rainforest. During your time with the tribe, you can learn some of the warriors’ hunting techniques. Discover how Kayapó women and children create their iconic body painting using the natural dye from Amazon ingredients. You will also have the opportunity to be painted yourself, so be sure to take your camera.
While staying at Kayapó Camp, which has a private bathroom and hot water, you can enjoy morning and afternoon boat safaris along the Iriri River. Keep a look-out for river otter, deer, jaguar and puma. You can also search for nocturnal animals on a night safari. Admire the beauty of the night sky with an astronomy session led by a specialist guide.
Additional notes about the tour
Accommodation: The tents have spring box beds, a private bathroom with hot water, and an electric light which is solar powered. The tents are located on a sandy beach area in front of Iriri River.
Availability: This experience is available from the 15 May to 15 July. You will also stay one night in Manaus at the beginning and end of the itinerary, and you can also choose to stay at Villa Amazonia Hotel.
You will travel to Kayapó Camp on a chartered flight (in a Cessna). The journey from Manaus will take approximately three hours 15 minutes.
