About Robinson Crusoe Deep Patagonia Lodge & Expeditions
Set deep in Patagonia, at the very end of the Carretera Austral in Chile's Aysen region is Robinson Crusoe Lodge. The Lodge serves as an ideal base to discover the southern Patagonian icefield, one of the largest icefields in the world outside the polar regions. 12 ensuite bedrooms are simply decorated, but offer comfortable beds, thick blankets and good heating and insulation for those colder days. The communal area, also known as 'The Club House', is a barn-style building reminiscent of the large Patagonian farm buildings of the area which offers a warming lounge and dining area, small shop, attic library, internet access and outdoor hot tubs. Daily excursions and all-inclusive week-long expeditions are available and include biking, hiking and boat trips to the formidable O'Higgins Glacier
