A true polar adventurer, Nansen Explorer blends the power of a commercial ship with the comforts and top service of an ultra-luxury yacht. Originally built as a research vessel for 60 passengers, this innovative yacht now accommodates just 12 guests in seven modern cabins, giving plenty of space for passengers to enjoy its five-star amenities.
Embark on a journey deep into the polar regions, exploring destinations well out of reach of traditional superyachts; Nansen Explorer has an Ice-1A classed, 72-metre-long hull, so it can sail further into the ice. Expedition capability is at the heart of this superyacht voyage. The knowledge of the handpicked crew – including a captain, three deck officers, two chefs, four stewardesses and two expedition guides – raises the onboard experience to another level.
As you venture into remote icy waters, relax in the stylish and warm lounge, or head out to one of the open deck areas to look out for whales. Intimate adventures come in the form of heli-skiing the slopes of Greenland – the yacht has a large heli-deck with onboard refuelling capabilities – and getting out on the water on a kayak or stand-up paddleboard.
In 2022, the ship is offering three all-inclusive expeditions, giving guests the rare opportunity to charter a cabin rather than the whole vessel:
- Photography-themed expedition in Antarctica departing 1 February 2022
- Heli-ski expedition in Greenland, departing 24 April 2022
- Discovery of Greenland, departing 19 June 2022
