Just six Serengeti-style tents make up the Linyanti Bush Camp, ideal for couples, families or small groups. The tents are spacious and decorated in muted, earthy tones to bring in the colours of the landscape. As well as an en-suite indoor bathroom, each tent has an indoor conventionally plumbed shower and a private deck overlooking the wetlands. Guests in the honeymoon suite can indulge in an alfresco clawfoot bathtub.
A lounge, bar and outdoor dining room form the communal area which is full of cosy armchairs, African print cushions and a well-stocked library. After dinner, the firepit is lit, and this is the perfect spot to sit, cocktail in hand, listening to the sound of creatures wallowing in water.
Far from the usual tourist trail, during the drier months, Linyanti Marsh is home to the only water source in northern Botswana. This draws scores of animals, most notably migrating herds of elephant and buffalo, while birdwatching is plentiful all year round. The bush camp guides are passionate about the local wildlife. Whether you take a safari on foot, by jeep, in a helicopter or a mokoro canoe, you’re sure to gain a wealth of knowledge about Botswana’s flora and fauna.
