Get close to a mountain gorilla in the Virungas
It’s hard to find a destination that is truly unique, but the Virungas in Rwanda come pretty close. There are only two places in the world to find mountain gorillas. Let us take you to one of them.
Remember Gorillas in the Mist? Dian Fossey studied the 350 mountain gorillas who live in the Virungas. Your expert guides to the Parc National des Volcans in Rwanda will take you trekking to catch a glimpse of the ten gorilla families that still make the Virungas their home.
The Virungas volcanoes in Rwanda are the most dramatic part of the Virunga Conservation Area. You’ll see not one but three major National Parks that join up with each other. These are the Mgahinga National Park in Uganda, the Parc National des Volcans in Rwanda and the Parc des Virungas (or Djomba, as it’s commonly called) in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is Africa’s own golden triangle.
There’s much, much more to see, so talk to us about arranging your bespoke Virungas holiday. We can arrange for you to see the beautiful native birdlife, track golden monkey or simply bathe in the extraordinary natural beauty of the landscape and its people from your deluxe lodge on the edge of the park.
