Observe some of the world’s most majestic creatures when you go whale-watching off the coast of Hermanus. From the comfort of your boat, you’ll float beside pods of the seasonal southern-right whale who visit these waters. You’ll be driven to the quiet fishing village of Hermanus which is recognised by the World Wildlife Fund as one of the world’s top land-based whale-watching destinations.
From June to November, southern right whale swim to the coast to mate and calve. Listen out for the town’s Whale Crier who signals where you can see them by blowing on a kelp horn. You’re also likely to spot the humpback whale and Bryde's whale along with the southern giant petrel, Cape gannet and dolphin who always make this a magical experience. You’ll have plenty of time to share your stories and photographs over an à la carte lunch and glass of fine local wine once back on shore. Time permitting, you can take a stroll along the town’s coastal paths where you will get your final glimpse of whales playing in the surf.
A small degree of flexibility is built into this full-day tour to ensure you enjoy the best whale-watching experience. Depending on weather and sightings, the boat will leave from either Hermanus or Gansbaai. Your guide will explain the logistics on the day.
