Meet the guide

John Niva grew up on the border of Nairobi National Park – the world’s only national park within a capital city. He visited the park with his family frequently, developing a deep appreciation for the nature and wildlife of Kenya. John’s education took him to the shores of Lake Victoria, the slopes of Mount Kenya and back to Nairobi to study tourism and foreign languages. Upon graduation in 1989, he joined A&K, becoming one of the youngest guides in the industry.

John has more than 25 years of guiding experience with us, and an in-depth knowledge of African culture, wildlife and conservation. He particular enjoys leading family safaris catering for children. In his free time, he is an avid photographer and footballer.
