About Kate
My first real travel adventure was when I spent three months backpacking in South America, travelling through Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil - it was this experience that ignited my love for this region and passion for travel. I returned to the continent a year later, this time taking a whole year to explore all the way from Mexico throughout Central America, including returning to my two favourite countries - Ecuador and Peru, to volunteer. A particular highlight of my time in Latin America was swimming with marine iguanas and penguins in the Galapagos Islands – a moment I’ll never forget. After my incredible experiences in Latin America I decided to start a career in travel so that I could talk about my passion every day and help take more people to this amazing part of the world.

Which destination is top of your bucket list, & why?
It’s my dream to see whales in Antarctica. The vastness of the region is just incredible and to see whales here would be so special, as well as it being my final continent to visit!

One, with some very broken Spanish!
Which five items do you always pack when travelling?
Sun cream, a small shopping bag, good walking shoes, clothes that can be layered, and a good book.
