Having travelled round Europe, Australasia and parts of Latin America as a fresh-faced and fancy-free youth, it was a month spent bumping around southern Africa that resonated most with me. And as sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti (as a learned scribe once penned), I knew I'd be back.
